Reminiscent of extravagant parties that were once held in The Grand Lobby, the Raffles Afternoon Tea is perfect for chic celebrations or a light repast with friends. Amidst this elegant setting, savour finger sandwiches, housemade scones and cakes, and seasonal delicacies – all complemented by a curated collection of exquisite teas and Champagnes.
The Writers Bar is rich in history and pays homage to literary luminaries who have stayed at the Hotel or written about it. Such are the likes of Noel Coward, Somerset Maugham and Rudyard Kipling. With a wide collection of fine wines and spirits, soft piano music in the background and unobtrusive service, patrons may be inspired to pen their own tales.
Amongst one of the oldest traditions in Raffles Hotel is the “Tiffin”, which dates back to the early 1890's. Founder Tigran Sarkies who opened the original Tiffin Rooms, had in mind to provide patrons the convenience of a light mid-day meal in the heart of Singapore's business district. After more than a decade, the “Tiffin” remains an integral part of dining at Raffles, and has become a rite of passage for all patrons to the Hotel. Presently a favourite breakfast nook for many, the restaurant serves a delectable spread of Northern Indian fare for a buffet lunch and an à la carte dinner.
